The Vinha de São Lázaro owes its name to the fact that in this vineyard there is a small chapel from the 13th century, dedicated to Saint Lazarus, protector of the sick and most needy. This is a 1.5ha plot of Touriga Nacional, planted around the walls of the Castelo de Estremoz, on a south-facing slope with clay-limestone soil.
