Red Wine

A classic wine from Lisboa Region, Portugal. This blend of Tinto Roriz, Syrah, and Alicante Bouschet is big with a full-bodied structure. Lots of fruit up front with an earthy mid-palate and finish. Great for heavier foods and sauces.

A ripe and juicy wine with fine acidity and rich tannins, this shows density and a strong mineral texture that is full of dark spice from wood aging.

With red grape from quinta da Teixuga, mostly Touriga Nacional and Alfrocheiro, we present this wine of great ambitions. After careful selection, these graped were vinified with the sole intention ofbeing the purset expression of their terroir.

Each grape variety from each vine is fermented separately in small stainless steel vats (10t). Not aged in wood. Monte das Ânforas, with its aromatic richness, accompanies grilled meat or fish dishes and complete salads, such as a Caesar salad.

Aromatic Mediterranean red wine, in which sweet, sun-drenched fruit can be detected in both the smell and the taste. Nuances of caramel and sal ammoniac from a short wood maturation give the wine extra dimension.

Voted in the top 50 Portuguese wines in the UK by wine critic Olly Smith. Both ripe and dried red fruits dominate the palate, and there is some white pepper on the finish (the influence of the Tinta Caiada coming through here).

Produced with the typical Douro red grape varieties – Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz and Touriga Franca – Assobio Red respects the winegrowing tradition of the oldest demarcated wine region in the world. Vinified in stainless steel vats with controlled temperature, most of the blend is then aged for six months in old concrete vats and a small part in used French oak barrels.

Exclusive fermentation in French oak vats. Stage for 18 months in new French oak barrels. At least 26 months aging in bottle.

Partial aging in French oak barrels for 6 months, continuing for another 10 months in the bottle before release.

Notes of ripe black and blue fruits, red cherries, black plum along with some spice, chocolate. Dry on palate, well-balanced wine with good level of acidity to balance out the fruit flavours.
