In 2018, this honey received the gold medal, in the Chestnut Honey category in organic production, at the 9th Honey Competition in Portugal.

Honey is a supersaturated sugar solution, generally more than 70% sugar and less than 20% water, and is therefore unstable. That's why it often crystallizes. The main sugars in honey are fructose and glucose, generally a little more fructose than glucose. The sugar that crystallizes is glucose. So what we do is decrystallize the honey mechanically (Helimel) is nothing more than a machine that, through the rotation of 3 propellers, transforms the coarser crystals into micro crystals, making the honey creamy very smooth with a fine texture and without altering the HMF .

This organic heather honey is produced in the Barroso region, more specifically, in the municipality of Montalegre. This flowering is found above 800 meters of altitude where heather (Ericaarborea) and queiró (Erica umbellata) predominate, as well as oak (Quercus faginea). Heather honey has a dark color, with a strong and intense taste, deeply accentuating its odour.

Rosemary honey from "Santa Maria" (L.stoechas) is produced in Terra Quente Transmontana, at more than 400m altitude between Valpaços and Mirandela. Rosemary honey is light in colour with a smooth and very aromatic taste.
